5 Guys & Fries: New Look

The conceptual renderings above reflect approved redevelopment plans for 15000 Detroit by Wholesome Development, Inc.

Located at the northeast corner of Gladys and Detroit Avenues, the rehabbed building will be the home of Five Guys Burgers and Fries, which has signed a 10-year lease in the space. Please note, that consistent with guidelines advocated by Downtown Lakewood Design Committee members and the Detroit Avenue Streetscape Plan, the renovated building features new brick on all sides, stepped parapets reflecting the historical architecture of adjacent buildings and outdoor dining. The completed 23,000 sq. ft. project will feature new mechanicals, innovative signage and awnings, as well as improved parking and attractive access from the rear of the building.

The building will house Wholesome Development's corporate headquarters and serve as a training location for other franchise locations in the area. The anticipated total investment in the building is $2.4 million. The company will use a $100,000, five-year loan from the City of Lakewood to finance storefront renovations. The investment will create 10-full time jobs, and an estimated $80,000 in additional tax revenue to the City.

Wholesome Development is in negotiations with prospective tenants for the retail spaces on either side of the Five Guys restaurant location.

Downtown Lakewood Development

LakewoodAlive representatives are meeting regularly with individuals/organizations interested in investing in our downtown area. Did you know that approximately 40,000 cars PER DAY pass through the Detroit-Warren intersection?

With a Cleveland Clinic Hospital, the nation's #1 library, a streetscape plan, access to I90/downtown and regular community events (Light Up Lakewood, Band2gther, Walk+Roll, Spooky Pooch Parade), bringing visitors to the district, we have a wonderful story to tell....and investors are listening.
